Show & Tell : My Favourite Toy Animal

Dear Parents,

We will have a "show and tell" by the pupils next week about their favourite animal.

The guiding questions are as follows:-

1. What is the appearance of your toy?
2. What does it mean to you?
3. Why is it your favourite toy animal?

You may also provide more information about it.

e.g. Who got the toy for you?

        Why did they give you the toy?

A printed copy of the about is also given to your child. We will start the Show and Tell from Wednesday onwards.

P1 & P2 Model Drawing Workshop for Parents

Dear Parents,

I have given out a circular today regarding a Math Model Drawing Workshop that will be conducted by our Math HOD, Mrs Esther Ang on 31 March, next Saturday. Other details of the workshop are in the given circular. This workshop is for you to understand how we teach our model drawing to your child. It is discouraged to bring your child along for this workshop as the teaching is for adults.

If you are interested in this workshop, please complete the required information in the reply slip, put the money in an envelope/ziplock bag, seal it (seal the envelope all around especially if you are giving coins), write down your child's name and put it in their homework file. In this way, children will not lose or use up the money easily.

Term 2 Week 1 Updates

Dear Parents,


English
We are at a new book "Crocodile Tea". We will learn the following:-
Grammar:-
a) Countable Nouns: Numbers One to Ten
b) Direct Speech

Vocabulary:-
ants, anteater, baboon, bug, hippo, lizard, zebra


Mathematics
We are learning ordinal numbers. Pupils usually make the mistake of assuming that "first" position always starts from the left. Pupils must also learn the spelling of all the ordinal positions from first to tenth and the word "last". I will give them a "surprise" test [not a surprise since I've told you here :) ] on the spelling of these words when we complete the chapter.


Show and Tell
We are going to have another "Show and Tell" in week 2 or 3. I will let you have more details once I have them.


Weighted Assessments
There will be some weighted assessments for English, Mathematics and Mother Tongue that will be coming up in this term. Weighted assessments means that these are tests that will form part of a percentage in the calculation of their results for the report book.
You will have more details in the term letter which the school will be giving out in time to come.

Holiday Homework

Dear Parents,

For this March holidays, we have assigned 4 English exercises for them to complete during the holidays.
Please help your child to logon to the MConline portal. Details as follows:-

When your child logins, he/she will see the column on the left that says: "View my assignments". Click on it and you are able to see the 4 assignments that are assigned by Norharyati. Please complete those 4 assignments during the holidays. I have also demonstrated to the class on how the whole process goes. They should be able to do it once you have login for them.

The above online homework is the only one that I'm giving for this holiday. Enjoy the holidays as I'm going to turn up the heat and give them more work when Term 2 starts! :)
